B-Scope Playable Prototype

Using already ubiquitous mobile technology, the USAF can add a layer of “training in the margins”, an area that until now was very difficult to penetrate. The newest generation of trainees is well connected and utilizes devices to self-train every day via social media, gaming, online courses, etc. It is time to explore this source of training time using a format and hardware the students are already using. The old way was good, and still the backbone of training, however, there’s an unexplored layer we can access.

This came out of a hallway discussion and took about an hour to build. It’s extremely bare bones to illustrate the concept of how rapidly we can build conceptual and procedural trainers to help operators practice mental concepts that can often take years to get comfortable with due to the expensive per-minute cost of experiencing situations.

Use the arrow keys to move the block around on the right top side relative to the little stick-figure aircraft at the bottom. You will see the relationship plotted on the B-Scope to the left.
